Employee-Owners Ride in Face of America Gettysburg Challenge

Monday, April 29, 2024

A group of our employee-owners had the opportunity to ride in the Face of America Gettysburg Challenge sponsored by the nonprofit World T.E.A.M. The ride honored our military veterans and active duty, both disabled and able-bodied and celebrated the American Spirit by bringing together adaptive and able-body athletes.

Nearly 400 riders started at Arlington National Cemetery, traveled 110 miles in 2 days, crossed 3 states, ending our ride at the Gettysburg National Battlefield.

Torch employee Dan Skane said, "I was inspired by the many adaptive athletes I got to meet along the ride and I had so much fun riding with my awesome Silver Spokes teammates Erin Garrett-Glaspell, Tim Matthews, Tim Barnes, Drew Buchness, Jay Gallamore, Bill Okoniewski, Tim Goodwin, and Tom Smolko. The Silver Spokes raised a combined $23,800 and Torch was the largest single donor to our team. In total, the event raised over $800,000!"

These contributions will make a difference in the lives of those who participate in the many programs supported by World T.E.A.M.
